Isa sa mga Programa ng Pangasinan State University sa ilalim ng Kolehiyo ng Edukasyon ang Batsilyer sa Pansekondaryang Edukasyon sa Filipino. Sa kursong ito, tinitiyak ng mga guro sa Departamento ng mga Wika na maging maparaan at malay sa malawak at mabisang pamamaraan ng mga pagdulog sa proseso ng pagtuturo at pagkatuto ang mga mag-aaral na nagpapakadalubhasa sa wikang Filipino, magkaroon ng malalim na kasanayan sa pagsasagawa ng pananaliksik, ekstensyon at produksyon hinggil sa usaping wika, kultural at lingguwistikong dibersidad, upang maging handa sa napiling propesyon.
Hindi lamang kasanayan at kaalaman ang tinitiyak na malinang sa bawat mag-aaral bagkus ay makitang naikintal ang matuwid na pag-uugali, pagkamagalang at may mataas na pagpapahalaga sa moralidad, integridad, at espirituwalidad upang makatugon sa nagbabagong kapaligiran.
