Welcome to the College of Agriculture!

From the agricultural college of Pangasinan State University, San Carlos City Campus, we welcome you with a heart full of commitment, passion, dedication, and resilience through the years.

The college began its operation by the virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1479, to boot, it was the prime college or department that honed technical knowledge in crop raising, agricultural synthesis, integrated agriculture management, and crop and animal science in adherence to the institution’s four-fold functions.

The college has been committed to helping students understand modern farming by teaching them the process and techniques in identifying, diagnosing, and analyzing problems and in designing, packaging, and applying technologies needed in the development and conservation of agriculture and food system resources.

As one best stratagem of the college, students are armed with agriculture-based training in the campus which they may use for immediate employment or application for TESDA Skills Certification subject to the requirements of the specific TESDA Training Regulation being applied for and that opportunity to undergo international on-the-job training-to employment program of the University, sojourning to Israel and other partnered international agencies.

It is with an elated heart to introduce our department that is committed to serving with purpose, passion, dedication, and resilience through the years.

BSA is designed for students who want a general background in agriculture with technical and professional competencies in planning, implementing, and evaluating agricultural extension and rural development programs.

Through the years, BSA is mapped out to developing and conducting extensions combined with research projects, facilitating training and seminars, promoting agricultural technologies, and applying participatory approaches in organizing, planning, and administering extension programs to its students and clients.

BSA embodies the values of producing professionals who are life-long learners

culture-sensitive, ethical, knowledgeable, nationalistic, objective, socially and environmentally responsible, socially responsive, innovative, systematic, service driven, and capable of meeting the needs of industry.

To date, the department is acting as the link between researchers and partnered agencies. Not to mention, BSA has been the top-tier course in the country as it promotes living and is a pivotal foundation for integrating students’ learning on the relevance of agriculture in the global arena.

Agriculture is the science and practice of framing, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, fiber, and other products. Agriculture covers six fields of study, namely: crop science; animal science; soil science; crop protection; economics and marketing; and agricultural extension and communication.

The BSA program aims to enhance students in the scientific habit of thought and entrepreneurial skills and prepare them to become globally competitive professionals with entry-level competencies in technical agriculture. It emphasizes the processes and techniques of identifying, diagnosing and analyzing problems and in designing, packaging and applying technologies needed in the development and conservation of the agriculture and food system resources.
