The Office of the Campus Human Resource Coordinator (HRC) welcomed its newest cohort of faculty members with an airline-themed onboarding event on November 14 at the Audio Visual Room.

The event was designed to provide new employees with the necessary tools, resources, and information to help them succeed in their roles and adjust to our university’s culture.

To manifest the “flight experience”, the HRC team collaborated with the Junior Association of Human Resource Executives headed by Mr. Dennis Mendoza as they initially greeted the newly hired faculty members and gave them a boarding pass, passport, and program kit for the event, incorporating the airline’s onboarding process to the human resource management’s onboarding process.

On behalf of Campus Executive Director Dr. Liza L. Quimson, Dean of Student Services and Affairs Dr. Rowena Villamil expressed her welcome remarks and congratulations to the faculty members. She also wished them the best of luck with their PSU journey as they started collecting memories that were reflected in their onboarding passport.

Faculty Association President Mr. Glein Tolentino introduced the official faculty union of the university and its functions, officials, membership fees, and union policies.

Campus HR Coordinator Ms. Michelle Quinto-Lopez discussed and presented the organizational structure, HRIS, HR/CSC Forms, campus policies, and other related lectures to orient the employees.

At the end of the program proper, the faculty members enjoyed the campus tour. They visited each administration office and relayed their queries on some administrative procedures relevant to their tasks.

The onboarding program is an official welcome and orientation program for newly-hired employees to the campus that is organized every after the oathtaking ceremony with the University President. Through such events, Pangasinan State University may steer its employees toward the road to quality education and excellence by molding them to become people’s champions, continuous- innovative learners, and community developers to the university and society.
