On Monday, August 12, 2024, PSU’s seventh President Dr. Elbert Galas held his โPresidentโs Hourโ at PSU SCC’s Learning Resource Center. The executive assemblage allowed the President to address concerns from stakeholders and report on the universityโs academic, economic, and administrative state.
The forum was attended by faculty members from key colleges, nonteaching personnel, and representatives from the Supreme Student Council (SSC). The discussions covered various campus matters, including employee hiring, employment status, facility upgrades, Certificate of Program compliance (COPC), and MS Teams utilization.
In addition to addressing queries, the attendees highlighted PSU SCCโs recent accomplishments, which have contributed to the university’s progress.
Following the forum, Dr. Galas, accompanied by Campus Executive Director Dr. Liza L. Quimson and diligent campus officials, toured the campus to assess offices and development plans for the land area.
Dr. Galas expressed his delight at the positive transformations under his leadership, acknowledging Dr. Quimson for her support and leadership on campus.
The “Presidentโs Hour” program was initiated by former president Dr. Dexter R. Buted and is an initiative continued by Dr. Galas as a means of promoting accountability and transparency. This forum allows the University President to engage with stakeholders openly, aiming to resolve matters more effectively.
