𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 25, 2024 — 𝙎𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙨 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣- PSU-SC hosted a comprehensive Gender and Development Orientation for its first-year students at the San Carlos City Mall.
The session commenced at 1:00 PM and was overseen by Dr. Liza L.anuza-Quimson, the Campus Executive Director, who emphasized the significance of gender awareness and inclusivity in the realm of education.
The highlight of the orientation was a keynote address by Dr. Presley V. De Vera, the Gender and Development Functionary for the Open University System of PSU. Under the theme “Transformative Journey Towards Equitable and Inclusive Future,” Dr. De Vera burped into critical discussions about gender equality and the role of students in fostering an environment of inclusivity. Her insightful presentation resonated deeply with the PSUnians, prompting attendees to reflect on their roles as change-makers in society.
To boot, the event showcased the vibrant talents of PSU-SC’s students through various fun-filled presentations. The performances included dance numbers and skits that not only entertained but also reinforced the values of collaboration and acceptance among peers.
The orientation was under the supervision of Dr. Cristina Lamsen-Javier, the campus GAD matriarch, and was skillfully hosted by the dynamic duo of Sir Reynald D. Gloria and Ma’am Lennibabes C. Alcantara, whose engaging commentary kept the energy high throughout the event. Their rapport with the audience contributed to a lively atmosphere, making the orientation both enjoyable and educational.
