Campus Executive Director Dr. Liza L. Quimson and PSU SCC Research Coordinator Dr. April C. Abalos , and PSU BC Research Coordinator Dr. Francis Albert T. Argente welcomed representatives from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSSU) to discuss the latter’s research on MMSU- CTE Initiatives for an Improved Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) of Region 1.
Said project is funded by the Commission on Higher Education, which aims to improve the Licensure Examinations for Teacher Performance of Teacher Education Institutions (TEI)S in Region 1 by conducting extensive research on students’ performance in the field of teacher education from Universities such as PSU SCC.
MMSU representatives Dr. Rosabel L. Acosta, Dr. Vida V. Antonio, Dr. Edelyn B. Asuncion, James Cesar A. Metiam, Dr. Leonardo D. Tejano, Dr. Mark Joseph D. Pastor, and Dr. Edrian D. Saraos were the notable researchers and professors who led the project.
Further, the research encompasses three projects: Competency-based training for Teacher Educators, English Proficiency Enhancement Through CLIL, and BLEPT Enhancement Program Development.
The meeting concluded with a favorable agreement between PSU SCC and MMSU supporting the said research.
Through the supervision of University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation Office Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Campus Executive Director Dr. Liza L. Quimson, and the initiatives of the University Research Office, partnerships such as this strengthens the PSU SCC’s relationships with other State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), thus, vitalizing the relevance of research and innovation in its programs.
